Christoph Bookmeyer
Analytical Chemist with a focus on biochemical analysis and imaging. I did my PhD in Münster (Germany) working on fundamentals of MALDI-MSI and developing postionization strategies. In the Metabolomics Platform, I explore the possibilities of surface-assisted LDI-MS imaging based on gold nanolayers and other activated surfaces. Next, I aim for the application of MALDI-MSI and SALDI-MSI in biomedical research for cancer tissue and the discovery of new biomarkers based on multivariate data analysis. Jordi Capellades Tomàs
Graduated in Biochemistry and PhD in metabolomics data analysis. I work in the Metabolomics platform performing untargeted metabolomics, lipidomics and stable isotope labeling data analysis. Also, I am involved in the development of data analysis strategies for metabolomics. ORCiD: 0000-0002-6502-8202 | j.capellades.to(ELIMINAR)@gmail.com977 776 617 | Metabolomics platform |

Xavier Correig Blanchar
PhD in Telecommunications Engineering (UPC). I serve as a Professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering and director of the Metabolomics Platform - a scientific infrastructure owned by the URV and the Spanish research institute on diabetes and metabolic diseases (CIBERDEM). My interests lie in combining different technologies from different scientific and technological fields. Current lines of research are the development of new solid-state surfaces and signal processing algorithms for MS imaging, as well as NMR-based metabolomics techniques applied to biomedicine. Pere Ràfols Soler
PhD in technologies to apply mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) at metabolomics studies. I contribute to the development of methods targeted to the detection of low-weight compounds in MSI with very high lateral resolution and non-interfering MS signals. I am the main developer of two well-known R packages targeted to MSI data-analysis: rMSI and rMSIproc. Likewise, I am focused to improve the MSI data handling, spectral pre-processing, automated peak annotation and statistical analysis to allow a fast and robust data interpretation. Maria Vinaixa Crevillent
Graduated in Chemistry and PhD in Electronic Engineering, my broad research interest leads to translational metabolomics and biomedical data science. My scientific career has been devoted to advance metabolomics technologies with special emphasis on computational metabolomics. My research has been structured around two main directions: (i) development of new computational tools, technologies, concepts and paradigms to drive metabolomics to a functional genomics tool; (ii) application of metabolomics to the study of fundamental biological processes in health and disease (particularly diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer); environmental health and synthetic biology. Óscar Yanes Torrado
After receiving my Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry (UAB, 2006) I became Research Associate in Gary Siuzdak’s lab (Scripps Research, California). Since 2011, I am the scientific coordinator of the Metabolomics Platform (CIBERDEM) and Assistant Professor (URV). I also coordinate the Spanish Metabolomics Network (MetaboRed), and preside the Spanish Metabolomics Society (SESMet). I have long experience in developing new technologies, analytical methods, computational tools and applications in LC-MS, GC-MS and NMR-based metabolomics. My research focuses on understanding metabolic dysregulations in disease through integrating mass spectrometry (MS)-based metabolomics with omic technologies.
